Since January 2011, the central library has become the official and mandatory repository for doctoral theses and Master’s dissertations supported by UMBB.
Deposit Procedures
- Thesis Deposit Certificate for Doctoral and Master’s Dissertations filled by the student
- Electronic dissemination authorization signed by the student
- Verification of the electronic version in the presence of the student;
- Certificate of compliance of the electronic version with the paper version signed by the student
- Deposit of the electronic version on the National Thesis Reporting Portal PNST.
- Deposit of the thesis in printed and electronic version (CD/ROM);
- Issuance of clearance.
Technical requirements to be followed during the deposit:
- Provide the validated version of the thesis as per the requirements of the supporting institution on paper accompanied by the digital version consistent and identical to the paper version.
- The digital version must be provided in a single PDF file format on CD or DVD.
- Preferably conduct the verification of the electronic version in the presence of the student.
- The digital version of the dissertation or thesis should not have any protection (password, encryption, etc.)
- The digital version of the dissertation or thesis should not contain any signature or watermark.
- Preferably avoid using an evaluation version of PDF creation software, as it automatically creates a watermark that makes certain parts of the PDF unreadable.
- The electronic version of the dissertation or thesis must be accompanied by a file in (.doc) format containing the cover page, a summary of your thesis, and keyword suggestions to describe your thesis.
- If your thesis is written in a language other than French (Russian, German, or others), you must provide the cover page in French for your thesis, as well as the summary in French for your thesis, and keyword proposals describing it.
The National Thesis Reporting Portal (PNST)
PNST is a comprehensive system providing access to National scientific thesis production. Its main objectives are:
- Accelerating the subject validation process
- Facilitating the submission of supported theses
- Reporting and documenting all National scientific production
- Preventing redundancy and plagiarism in research work.
- Providing access to the full text (available for supported theses)
To access the full text, one needs to log in with the SNDL access code.
